She was united in marriage to Joseph H. Merritt, July 8, 1908 at Newark, Arkansas and immediately moved to Roger Mills County, Oklahoma where they made their home on the farm and resided here until they retired and moved to Cheyenne where she has lived ever since. They reared a family of 8 children, two of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.H. Merritt on February 25, 1958 and granddaughter, Deltha Leddy February 25 of this year. She obeyed the Gospel and was united with her Lord in Baptism and became a member of his church in early womanhood, approximately 50 years ago. She remained faithful to her Lord and visited the sick as long as she was able and after that constantly kept in touch by telephone. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She leaves to mourn her passing 3 sons, Judge and Kenneth of Jay, Oklahoma and Joe of Crawford, 3 daughters, Mrs. Rolly Blurton of Bethany, Oklahoma, Mrs. Fred Young of Crawford, and Mrs. Charles Coryell of Burlington, Colorado; 1 sister Mrs. Nora Eaves of Newark, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
