The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Funeral services for Mr. Ramsom Tuttle "Rounder" Martin, 79, Clinton resident were at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 1983 in the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Services were officiated by Mr. Doyle Kinney, First Christian Church in Clinton. Burial was in the Doxey-Sayre Cemeter, Southeast of Sayre, Oklahoma under the direction of Stanley-Lee Funeral Home. Mr. Martin was born August 4, 1904 in Reydon, Oklahoma and passed away Sunday evening October 3, 1983 in the Highland Park Manor Nursing Home in Clinton. "Rounder" as he is known by his friends and relatives was reared in the Dempsey, Oklahoma community and attended schools in Dempsey and later graduated from the Strong City High School in 1925. He married the former Miss Juanita Hayden November 7, 1934 in Sayre, Oklahoma. Mr. Maring worked for an auto parts company and lived in Reydon, Oklahoma, the Rio Grand Valley and finally retired in 1969 and they made their home in Sayre, Oklahoma. Due to failing health they moved to Clinton in 1979 to be close to their daughter, Mrs. Bill Dowdell. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sayre, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Juanita, Clinton; one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Claudette) Dowdell; three grandchildren Mrs. Rick (Jan) Fulcher, Edmonds, Washington; Mrs. Gary (Karla) Owen; Gary and wife Raquel Dowdell of Clinton; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson, Sweetwater, Oklahoma and Mrs. Faye Graham, Sayre, Oklahoma; two brothers, Mr. Lloyd "Bully" Martin, Dempsey, Oklahoma and Mr. Marvin Martin, Richmond, California. For those wishing to give a memorial contribution they may do so to the Oklahoma Children Memorial Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma or the First Christian Church Building Fund. Buck Martin and Lora Kate Havely, grandson of George Franklin Martin and Synthia Anne Ferrell and William Dehaven Havely and Helen Augustus Tuttle. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William B. Martin, Jr. and his son, R. T. Pepper Martin ( 1935 - 1953) Uncle Rounder and Aunt Juanita also lived in Pampa, Texas and Amarillo, Texas before returning to Sayre.
