Louise Macklin was born May 22, 1916 in Berlin, Oklahoma to Nellie 
and Charles Holiday Neal.  She passed away December 22, 2006 at 
Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 10 days. 

Louise grew up in the Berlin community and graduated from Berlin High 
School.  She was married to Vernon Clifford Macklin at Berlin, OK on 
November 11, 1936 and continued to make Berlin their home.  While in 
Berlin they owned and operated the Berlin Store.  After Vernon was 
drafted into the U.S. Army, Louise moved to Sayre where she lived 
with her sister, Mildred Bowers.  After returning from the war Vernon 
and Louise moved to the Bulo community where they made their home and 
farmed. 

After Vernon's death in 1975 Louise continued to live on the farm in 
the Bulo community until 2002 when ill health forced her to move to 
the Erick Nursing Center.  Louise enjoyed crocheting, painting and 
cooking for family and friends.  She was a member of the Sayre Church 
of Christ. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vernon, son, 
Clifford Macklin, 2 brothers on and Ray Neal and 4 sisters, Audrey 
Drew, Mildred Bowers, Ethel Whitledge and Dolly Fraley. 

Survived by her daughter-in-law, Kay Macklin, Erick, OK; 2 
grandchilddren, Sean Macklin and wife, Tiffany, of Byers, TX, and 
Sheila Thornton, Elk City, OK; 8 great grandchilddren, Shawnda, 
Shelby, Shayne and Skylar, and Thornton, and Ryanne, Peyton, Emilee 
and Carson H. and Macklin, 1 brother, Dale Neal and wife, Imogene, of 
Sayre, OK; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and 
friends. 

Services were held on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at Sayre 
Church of Christ officiated by Tom Hargues.  Burial will be at Berlin 
Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of 
Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Sayre.  Memorials may be made to the 
Erick High School Memorial Fund, c/o First American Bank, Erick, OK.
