The shooting took place just in fron of Jim Gober's saloon on the main street of the city. Three shots were fired by Wolfarth and two of them took effect in Markham's left side. Either of the shots were fatal. Both were cowmen and were supposed to be the best of friends, but rumor states that some sight trouble had occurred between them in the afternoon and that Markham had drawn knife on Wolfarth. The coroner's jury held an inquest on the body of Markhazm and found that he came to his death by the wound of a pistol in the hands of Ben Wolfarh, and the jury made a complsaint and caused a warrant to be issued for his arrest. Wolfarth is now in jail awaiting a premliminary examination. Markham's remains were shipped to his sister, Mrs. Ferguson, at Wichita Falls, Texas, yesterday evening on the 4 o'clock train.
