He passed away October 9, 2010 at Benton, Kansas at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 29 days. Bud served in the United States Army from October 1945 to March 1947. He was in Germany during the clean-up effort after World War II, returning to Berlin, Oklahoma upon being honorably discharged. He was married to Freda Mae (Fagan) Marshall at Wheeler, Texas on August 30, 1947. Bud worked for Phillips Petroleum company for over 30 years, until retiring in Chickasha, Oklahoma. In 1995 Bud and Freda moved to Elk City, Oklahoma and then in July of 2009 moved to Andover, Kansas to be closer to family. Bud was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Elk City, Oklahoma and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed wood working as a hobby. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice Services for their help and support. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Sarah Marshall; siblings, Alvin, Melvin, Freda and Harold (Pete). He is survived by his wife, Freda, Andover, Kansas; children, Katherine TenBrook and husband, James, Denver, Colorado, Steven Marshall and wife, Linda, Benton, Kansas; granddaughters, Sherilyn Lucas and husband, Pat, Terisa TenBrook, both of Castle Rock, Colorado, Stacey Marshall, Tory Marshall, both of Kansas; 5 great great grandchildren; siblings, Jewell Barnes, Wichita, Kansas, Rena Dovell, Sayre, Oklahoma Dennis (Deanie) Marshall, Hobart, Oklahoma, Elouise Marshall, Sayre, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contribution be made to the American Diabetes Association at 6465 S. Yale, Suite 519, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136 or the Alzheimer's Association at 6465 S. Yale, Suite 312, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136. Services were held Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Whinery-Savage Chapel officiated by Dr. Russell Duck under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
