Mildred Ilene Matthews, the sweetest person you could know, died December 4, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Cleto Franklin; sister, Lura Mae Mogg and brother, Lloyd Franklin. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, James Sidney Matthews; loving children, Jimmy Matthews, Mari Casden and Dayna Brown; plus her grandchildren Damon, Becky, Jason, Carrie, Catelin, Cara, Aubrey, Luke and Macy, and 5 great grandchildren. She was born July 15, 1931 in Grimes, Oklahoma and graduated from Berlin High School. Mildred attended Weatherford State Teachers College and taught school in Berlin, Oklahoma. She had a lovely smile that drew people to her. Music brought her joy, and she loved to cook and sew. She was a spectaculer wife and mother and adored by all who knew her. She created a warm and inviting home, making sure everyone knew they were loved. She was always ready to listen and give a hug, then kiss away our tears or celebrate our success. She will truly be missed.
