Lucy McClain was born at New Castle, Pennsylvania January 12, 1851. Moved to Illinois with her parents, while a child, and later to Butler county, Kansas, in 1871 where she was united in marriage to John T. McClure, August 5, 1876. Five children were born to this union. She is survived by only one of them, her son, Curtis. Lucy McClure came to Oklahoma in 1894 settling first in Kingfisher county. In 1905 she came to Durham, Oklahoma and has made that her home. All friends and neighbors bear witness to her christian character. Since a small girl she has been united with some church. She has passed to be in the presence of Jesus Christ in the land where no storms shall ever beat. "Blessed are those who die in the Lord from henceforth they shall rest from their labors."Count ye blessed of my Father inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Jesus while our hearts are bleeding O'er the spoils that death has won We would at this solemn meeting Calmly say. Thy will be done. By Thy hands the boon was given Thou hast taken but thine own. Lord of earth and God of Heaven Evermore, Thy will be done.
