He grew up in the Leedey community, attending grade school and high school there, and graduated with the Leedey Senior High Class of 1980. Following his graduation, he completed a year at Oklahoma State University, Stillwatwer. He then returned to Leedey to join the farming and ranching business in which his father and grandfather were engaged. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church of Leedey. On May 19, 1984, Moore was married to Vana Callaway in Elk City, where they lived until June 1985, when they established a residence in Leedey. From the time of their marriage, the couple cared for Mrs. Moore's younger sisters, Jada and Jara Callaway. One daughter, Lyndsi Taran, was born to them. Survivors include his wife Vana, his daughter, Lyndsi Taran and his sisters-in-law, Jada and Jara Callaway, all of the home in Leedey; his parents, Harold Dewayne and Cheryl Sue Moore and his brother, Larry Dale Moore, also all of Leedey; his paternal grandparents, Roy and Ruth Moore of Leedey; his maternal grandparents, Johnnie and Kermit Hall of Leedey; his paternal great-grandmother, Ida Harrison of Atmore, Alabama; his maternal great-grandmother, Ruby South of Leedey; several aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John F. Morlan. Services were held Thursday, June 26, 1986 in the First United Methodist church in Leedey with Pastor Dennis Dieker and Gib Clark, Pastor of the Coldwater, Kansas Church of Christ, officiating.
