The family made their home in the Canadian community. She passed from this life on August 10, 2009 at the age of 78. Polly, as she was affectionately called by her family and close friends, was the third child born to Gladys and Jim. Brother Celo and sister, Hazel came first and the three were later joined by baby sister, Lou. Pauline loved all of her family dearly and was very loyal to them. She had a special place in her heart for little sister, Lou. Pauline started her school years at the Canadian School attending there thru the eighth grade. Her first year of high school was spent at Liberty Center and she completed high school at Leedey graduating with the Class of 1948. Pauline was an excellent student and an outstanding athlete, excelling at basketball. Always a hard worker, she started working early on at the Foster Dry Good Store and later in her parent's variety store. After graduation she worked for a year at the ASC office in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. September 15, 1951 Howard Roy Moore and Pauline were married in the home of her parents. Dollie and Marshall Wilson were the matron of honor and best man. Melvin Harrel officiated as Minister. This began a wonderful partnership and marriage that lasted 58 years. They made their first home in the Moorewood community. Pauline and Howard were in the farming and ranching business all of their years together. She was a devoted and hard working partner, whether driving the tractor, working cattle, or preparing a mouth watering meal, she was the best. During their years at Moorewood, they were blessed with the birth of their child, daughter, Susan Gaye. Pauline was a wonderful and dedicated mother. Pauline had a gift to coach and was always enthusiastic whether Gaye was playing basketball or running barrels. They shared many fun times together. As a youth Pauline attended church at Canadian and Liberty Center Schools. She was baptized as a young woman in the Leedey Baptist Church. After she and Howard were married they began attending the Methodist Church in Leedey. She taught youth Sunday school for a number of years and always enjoyed helping with Bible school. Pauline was a natural grandmother and cherished spending time and playing with her two grandchildren, Shane and Sydney. She always liked to say, on September 29, 1989 she didn't lose a daughter, she gained a son-in-law, Shawn Frey from Eunice, LA. Pauline Harrel Moore was a woman with great personality and integrity who possessed a contagious positive attitude. She was blessed with the gift of being an encourager to allo she met. She had a smile for everyone and a determined, never-give-up attitude. Some of her most favorite advice to Gaye was to always be a giver, and not a taker. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Gladys Harrel; brother, Celo Harrel; father-in-law, Roy Moore, and nephew, Lynn Moore and his wife, Vana Calaway Moore.
