According to the story it seems that Mrs. John T. Murray and her five children were returning to Muskogee after having resided near Strong City during the past year. Mack Murray, a brother-in-law, was driving the truck when for some reason it stalled going up a hill just after leaving the farm where they had resided. As it stalled it started backwards finally overturning and pinning the family under the truck. Mrs. Murray and two of the children were killed instantly and another daughter sustained minor injuries. Funeral services were held at 2:30 Monday afternoon for the three victims of the accident. Burial was in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. 26-Dec-1929 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Roger Mills Archives http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/rogermills/rogermills.html
