Interment was also at Leedey. Mr. Newton died Saturday after a lenghy illness. He was born near Rhea on April 6, 1915. He was married to Nellie Moxon, onf February 3, 1937, in Sayre, Oklahoma. Mr. Newton was engaged both in farming and had been a Dewey County employee before he retired. Mr. Newton was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gertie Newton, two brothers and three sisters and 1 son, Lynn. He is survived by his wife, Nellie, of Leedey; 1 son, Walter, of Elk City; 8 daughters, Marlene Garza of Norwalk, California; Margie Snell of Reydon; Marcella Drinnon of Elk City; Betty Langley of Foss; Thelma Lewis of elk City; Georgie Johnson of Norman; Helen Adams of Canute; and Denise Newton of Leedey; 23 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren; 2 sisters, Leola Moxon of Lefors, Texas and Bessie Bearden of Dinuba, California.
