The accident occured on a bridge, just east of Clinton. Mr. Thornburg, the driver apparently lost control of the car and the Jeffery car crashed through the failing on the bridge, fell to the groung and Mr. Nance was caught beneath the heavy car and death came to him instantly. Mr. Thornburg was very seriously injured and died a few hours later at the Clinton Hospital. Mr. Hawks, the postmaster at Clinton, was also in the car, and while he sustained bery painful injuries, it is not thought that Mr. Hawks is in a dangerous condition.
