He passed away October 21, 2010, at El City at the age of 84. Services were held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Sweetwater First Baptist Church officiated by Ed Weather. Burial was in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Condolences can be made online at www.whinryfs.com Wilber's early years were spent in the Sunny Point, Reydon and Roll communities He answered the call in 1943 for World War II, but couldn't pass the physical because of a ruptured appendix earlier He spent the war years in Oakland, California, with General Engineers as a welder building ships. In 1946, he came driving into Sweetwater in a shiny black 1936 Ford and caught the eye of Theresa Hardy. They were married at Sweetwater on July 27, 1947, and left for California to seek their fortune, which they never found. They shared 63 years together and moved to Sweetwater in 1973. In 1950, he gave his life to Christ in Sweetwater. Wilber could repair anything that ran and was a master of recycling as you can tell by his home place. They spent their 20 years of retirement traveling, gardening and enjoying their children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Sweetwater First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Geraldine Bruner; and four brothers, Leo, Olin, Donald and Clifford. He is survived by his wife, Theresa, of the home; two daughters, Linda Forman and husband Bill, Pampa, Texas, and Phyllis Doucette and husband, John, Amarillo; two sons, Larry Nabors and wife, Gail Pampa, and Jerry Nabors and wife Linda, Denison, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Lucille Nabors, Elk City, Norman Nabors Limme, Dallas, and Alice Nabors, Lower Lake, California his mother-in-law, Lucille Hardy, Weatherford; seven grandchildren Jennifer and Ben Weinheimer, Julie and Dave Sim, Jill and Daniel Bell, Mark and Meredith Doucette, Laura and Casey Hastings, Rusty and Venus Nabors and Randy and Suzanne Nabors; 11 great grandchildren, Brittany Toss and Will Weinheimer, Danielle and Mega Sims, Zachary, Sarah and Nate Bell, Jamie Nabors, Jackie and Clare Doucette; and several other relatives and friends.
