Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Oklahoma Lane United Methodist Church in Parmer County with the Rev. Nelly Landrum officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mr. O'Brien was born in Cheyenne, Okla. He and his family moved to Muleshoe in 1993, moving from Whitney. He was a retired carpenter. He was also an Army veteran, serving in World War II from 1942 to 1944. He was a member of the Oklahoma Lane United Methodist Church in Parmer County. He was also a member of the RLDS Church in Oklahoma. He married Jean Hurley in 1957 at Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Lee O'Brien of Weatherford; a daughter, Benna Ball of Whitney; and a sister, Olivea Sandburg of Las Vegas.
