Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Carl Janocha officiating. Interment followed in the Calvary Cemetery under the directin of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Arlene Hills O'Neil was born November 28, 1915, in Balko, Oklahoma to Elvert Ray Hills of Illinois and Lena Grace Campbell of Kansas and passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008 in Norman at the age of 92. Arlene attended school in Cheyenne and Souhwestern State College in Weatherford. She was married to Charles Edward O'Neil on March 25, 1934, and they lived in the Redmoon Community for a few years. In February of 1940, Ed and Arlene moved to a farm southeast of Cheyenne where they lived for the rest of their lives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1985; two brothers, Marshall Foch Hills in 1921 and Walden Elvert "Bud" Hills in 1970 and a son-in-law, Larry Hooper in 2008. Survivors include three children, Lana Beth Boyd and her husband Richard of Norman, Charles Ray O'Neil and his wife Barbara of Cheyenne and Mary Margaret Hooper of Oklahoma City; a sister Elverta Burns and her husband Bob of Kingston, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
