The youngest of 6 children, she was only 16 months of age when her father passed away. The family moved to their Jones grandparent's home and the children attended Trail School. In the mid- term of her 6 grade, Catherine and family moved into Leedey school district. Catherine graduated with the class of 1936. In May 1937 Catherine Howard and Floyd Peck were united in marriage. To this union 3 sons were born Floyd Edwin, Vernon and Larry. The wholed family did farm work, and the boys attended several area schools, all graduating from Leedey High School. Catherine accepted Christ aas her Savior in July 1954 and was a member of the First Baptist Church oof Leedey. After Floyd's passing Catherine went to the Senior Citizens Center and learned to quilt. She enjoyed quilting and, before her artgritis set in, had made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. Catherine always looked forward to the holidays and the opportunity to fly her American Flag. Her son Floyd Erwin and twso grandsons, Ronnie and Johnny Peck served in the military. Catherine loved her church , her country and her hometown very much. Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband Floyd; her parents, Ed and Etta Howard; her son, Edwin; two brothers; two sisters; and several in-laws. Those left to mourn her passing are her two sons, Vernon Peck and wife Anita of Vici, Oklahoma, and Larry Peck and wife Riby of Ames, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; her brother, Emory Howard and wife Mae of Sunnyvale, California, and a niece, Lavena Skelton of Leedey, Oklahoma, who was very special to her, and a host of other nieces and nephews. Services were held Wednesday, September 29, 2004 in the First Baptist Church, Leedey, Oklahoma with interment followin in the Evergreen Cemetery, Leedey, Dewey County, Oklahoma. Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Leedey, Oklahoma.
