Born February 18, 1888, in DeCatur, Texas, Mr. Potts died in an Elk City hospital, October 14, 1962. He was 74. Mr. Potts came to Oklahoma territory in 1901 to the Roger Mills area and lived there until he moved to Elk City five years ago. Prior to moving here he lived in Cheyenne 14 years. He retired nine years ago. Mr. Potts was married October 1, 1911, west of Hammon to the former R.L. Stanford. He is survived by his wife of the home, 115 East First St., Elk City, two daughters, Mrs. Lenora Shelton, Elk City; and Mrs. Lorena Brandon, Miami, Fla.; and one son, Stanley, of Emmitt, Idaho. Three other children preceded him in death. He is also survived by one brother, Tom of Cheyenne; two half-sisters, one half-brother, 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Burial was at the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
