Beavin, in Cheyenne at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, 1948. Mr. Peterson was born August 15, 1865 at Adkins, Tennessee. He moved with his parents to Comanche County, Texas when about 18 years of age. He was united in marriage to Miss Maggie Thaxton, December 21, 1890. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson came to Roger Mills County, and settled in the Sunny Point community in 1905 and remained on their farm until 1944 when they moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma where he lived at the time of his death. Survivors; include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Peterson of Cheyenne; two daughters, Mrs. Effie Cary, Rogers, Arkansas and Mrs. Ollie Beavins of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Earle L. Cary, Rogers, Arkansas, Mrs. Mary Godfrey, Warren, Illinois and Mrs. Kathryn Calvert, Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; five great grandchildren; oned brother Jeff D. Peterson, Watts, Oklahoma and one sister; Mrs. Martha A. Gilford of Grimes, Oklahoma. Funeral services for Mr. Peterson were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednsey, August 4th, 1948 at the Sunny Point community building, with Rev. Don Anderson and Rev. W.H. Farris, Cheyenne, officiating. Burial was in the Dempsey, cemetery with Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne in charge.
