Pankey William H. Pankey, the second son of John Ed and Alice Pankey, was born in St. Catherine, Missouri on October 13, 1879 and departed this life April 1, 1964 at the Cheyenne Convalescent Hospital. He was one of the early day pioneers, coming to Oklahoma Indian Territory in 1902 and bringing his bride, Laura Barber to his homestead near Roll, Oklahoma. To this union was born one son, Lavon Pankey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laurs, his parents, 4 brothers, Clarence, Ray, Elmer, Alonzo and one sister, Mrs. Dora Bond. In 1957 he married his second wife Mrs. Laura Bisbey of Houston, Texas. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Laura, of the home, one son, Lavon Pankey, one sister, Mrs. Ellen Hall, and one brotgher, Riley Pankey of Brookfield, Missouri one granddaughgter, Mrs. B ill Ewing, Jr. and one grandson Riley Pankey, and eight great grandchildren of Wichita, Kansas and a host of nieces and nephewx. He was a long time member of the Cheyenne Baptist church and a pioneer resident of Roger Mills County. he was active in community and church affairs and was a good neighbor.
