He graduated from Hammon High School in 1959 and then served his country in the U.S. Army as a medic. After his discharge, Eddie moved to southeast Texas where he worked for the railroad. He then returned home to Hammon where he worked for Roger Mills County for some 34 years. He was a past member of the Hammon Jaycees, a member of the Western Swing Square Dance Club and the Hammon Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Donnie Pinkston. Survivors include his son Tommy Pinkston and wife Christal of Hammon; two grandchildren; his mother, Lorene Pinkston of Hammon; one brother Melvin Pinkston of Elk City; two sisters, Loretta Sunderland of Woodward and Evelyn Marshall of Shawnee and his constant companion Pat Bell. Services were held Monday, October 27, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hammon with Dolan Ivey and Stan Baker officiating. Burial followed at the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral ome of Elk City.
