She passed away September 28, 2006 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 17 days. Toots grew up at Crawford, Oklahoma and graduated from Crawford High school in 1947. She was married to Delbert Powers at Canadian, Texas on December 3, 1947. Toots and Delbert lived in Crawford, Reydon and Durham communities most of their lives. In 1975, Delbert's job took them to Custer City where they lived until 1982. In 1982, they returned to Roger Mills County where they retired and have since lived. In 1993 Toots was baptized into Christ at the Cheyenne Church of Christ. Toots enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spendding time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maggie Lucas, 1 brother, Claude Lucas, 11 sister Lila Grace Trainham. She is survived by her husband, Delbert, of the home; 2 sons, John Powers and wife Kay, of Reydon, OK and Rick Powers and wife Susan, of Reydon, OK: 2 daughters Nelda Pennington and husband Don, of Reydon, OK and Danna Kent and husband Monte, of Arapaho, OK; 11 grandchildren, Darla Rogers, Perry Pennington, Wesley Powers, Janna Markham, Gaylaq Smith, Audrey Kinnaman, Paul Powes, L.S. Powers, Lynsi Kent, Taylor Kent and Connie Kent; 11 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Clarence Lucas, of Sunray, TX. And a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held on October 1, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at Cheyenne Church of Christ officfiated by Chuck Milner and Earl Reed, assissting. Burial was at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
