In 1900 with his parents he moved to Oklahoma where they homesteaded in Washita River basin near Reydon in Roger Mills County. There he grew to manhood. In 1917 he entered the U.S. Army serving wih the 36th Division in World War I. He was discharged from the Army in 1919. On July 13, 1922 he was united in marriage to Mable A. Wells. To this union three children were born, Donald Edward, Clara June and Laddie Lee. Mr. Parsons was a member of the First Chistian Church of Kingfisher. During his active years he served on the Board of Deacons. He also was Sunday School Superintendent of the Big 4 Sunday School for 10 years. He was an active member member of the Masonic lodge in Kingfisher, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Parson had been in poor health for the past six years. He died August 6th at the Veterans Hospital Wadsworth, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, two sons, Donald and Laddie of Kingfisher, and daughter Mrs. Clara June Beard of okyo, Japan; his mother, Mrs. Alice Parsons; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Pride of Reydon, Mrs. Nannie Baker, Durham, and Lula Lillenthal of Los Angeles, California; five brothers Gather of Roswell, New Mexico, Claud of Los Angeles, California, Willis of Bushland, Texas; Lonzo of Whittier, California, and William J. Parsons of Reydon, and five grat grandchildren. Funeral services were at the Kingfisher Christian church and interment was in the Kingfisher cemetery.
