Pete joined the Marine Corps as private in 1936 and retired as a major in 1963. Three of those years were spent as a prisoner of war in the Phillippians and Japan. After leaving the service, he owned and operated several resturants in Oceanside, California. He lived in Cheyenne from 1971 until 1989 when he moved to Arizona and then to Alaska three years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George and William. Survivors include his wife Geraldine Protz of Del Rio, Texas; his sister, Vera Pisaraki of Norcross, Georgia; one son, Jim of Juneau, Alaska; his daughter Judy Wilson of Oceanside, California; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of Oceanside, California.
