Puryear, rancher and stockman, Amarillo, who died March 2, 1947 at St. Anthony hospital, were held from the Sweetwater Church of Christ Tuesday with W.H. Wrye, minister, Erick, officiating. Mr. Puryear was born near Sweetwater January 7, 1902. He was married to Mittie Hodges, November 19, 1919 at Liberal, Kansas. He has been a resident of Amarillo for the past three years. He was preceded in death by his father in March, 1943. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mittie Puryear and daughter, Charlie Nell of Sweetwater; his mother, Mrs. N.V. Puryear of Bolder City, Nevada; two sisters, Mrs. J.H. Mallot of Woodlake, Califoirnia, and Mrs. H.H. Dunbar of Boise City, Nevada; two brothers, Bill J. Puryear of Sweetwater, and T.G. Puryear of Anchorage, Alaska. Burial was at Mulberry cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Sayre Funeral Home, Moore-Allen Funeral Directors in charge.
