Burial will be at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Rod was born January 9, 1953 at Elk City to Mildred (Kitchens) and Jasper LaRue Post and died September 6, 2009 in Sayre at the age of 56 years, seven months, and 27 days. He grew up in Sayre where he graduated from Sayre High School in 1971. Rod began ranching after high school. He also worked with his brother in the petroleum industry at Post Construction. He was married to Brenda Lee (Roles) at Ft. Worth, TX on March 19, 2005 and they continued to live in Sayre to make their home. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the American Angus Breeders Association and attended Grandview Assembly of God Church in Elk City. Preceding him in death was his father. Survivors include his wife, Brenda of the home; one step-daughter, Becky Morris and husband, Mark of Hammon; one step-son, Brandon Rose and wife, Dee Dee of Elk City; his mother and step-father, Mildred and Larry Cooper of Sayre; one brother, Joe Post and wife, Linda of Sayre; one nephew; five grandsons; two granddaughters; a great nephew; his aunt Winnie Ola Berrong of Weatherford; three cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
