He was the son of William D. and Hattie Quattlebaum. He was born at a farm home near Leedey, Oklahoma, on February 29, 1904. On November 16, 1925, he was married to Adella Schliesser in the bride's home near Leedey. To this union one son was born, Willian Leon. They established their first home four miles east of Leedey and continued to live in the Leedey farm area. Mr. Quattlebaum enjoyed farm life and he spent his entire life as a farmer until his retirement in 1979, when they moved to Leedey. In 1983, they moved to Bartlesville to be closer to their son and his family. Mr. and Mrs. Quattlebaum have been married 63 years. At an early age, Mr. Quattlebaum accepted Christ as his savior, became a member of the Baptist Church and was an active member until ill health prevented his attendance. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Quattlebaum and Elton Quattlebaum, and two sisters, Mae Newton and Opal McClendon. Mr. Quattlebaum is survived by his loving wife, Adella Quattlebaum of the home; his son Leon and wife, Odessa of Bartlesville; three grandchildren, Billie Lee and husband, David Shepherd; Donna and husband, Ron Houtman and Roy G. Quattlebaum; four great grandchildren, Tanya and Troy Shepherd and Kevin and Lisa lynch; three step grandchildren; four sisters, Ora payne of Weatherford, Thelma Drive of Elk City, Lola Stoddard of Leedey and Lavena Furnes of Tulsa; four brothers, Howard Quattlebaum, Lloyd Quattlebaum and Leonard Quattlebaum, all of Weatherford and Edward Quattlebaum of Leedey and a host of friends. Funeral services for Mr. Quattlebaum were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Porter of Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
