Rowe was born November 13, 1869 in Giles County, Texas and died at his home in Sayre August 5, 1949. On April 12, 1902 he was married to Effie Welch at Watonga, Oklahoma. For a number of years he resided in the Crawford community where he was engaged in the farming and ranching business. Retiring from this he moved to Sayre in 1941 where he has made his home since. Burial was in the Sayre- Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Scroggins Funeral Home. He was a member of the Assembly of God church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Effie Rowe of Sayre; three daughters Mrs. Edythe Barber of Arnett, Mrs. Thelma Calhoun of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Waneta Shaw of Mountian Park; four brothers, Percy Rowe and Doug Rowe of Ardmore, and Pete Rowe and Roy Rowe of Lamar, Colorado; four sisters, Mrs. Ada Buchanan and Mrs. Natha Walker of Thomas, Mrs. Minnie Nelson of Lamar, Colorado and Mrs. Myrtle Ponder of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by two sons, Earnest and Joy Rowe. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 18-Aug-1949
