Fern, the daughter of John R. and Lula McClarren Taylor, was baptised on Sabbath Morning August 1901 into the Methodist Episcolpal Church at North Cedar, Kansas. She along with her mother, sisters and brothers came to Oklahoma to join her father, who met them in a covered wagon at Canadian, Texas and brought the family to their new homestead east of old Rankin. They lived in a tent until a house could be built. On December 20, 1923 she married Jim E. Ruby in Canadian, Texas and they lived in Gem City where Jim worked for the railroad. They later moved to Denver, Colorad where Jim passed away. Due to ill health, she then moved to Wichita, Kansas before moving to Cheyenne to be near her brothers. She was preceded by a sister-in-law, Lila Mary Taylor of Reydon, Oklahoma, a nephew, Mac Taylor also of Reydon, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services were held Thursday April 12, 1990 at 2:30 p.m. with Morris Cook officiatin. Interment followed in White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
