He passed away on April 3, 2005 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years 2 months and 28 days. There were seven living Raff Children. Of these Bill and Elmina were one of three sets of twins, Bill was preceded in death by his former wife, Blanche, his son Dennis, his daughter Wyvonne McClellan, his parents and many relatives including close friends Robert and Ima Bachman. As a young man Bill made a second home and worked for George and Dora Gantz and helped support his large family "maybe by sending hogs from his wages as food for his primary family. After marriage Bill worked for Durham Schools as a mechanic and drove a bus while living on his farm north of the twin hills. In 1949 hed moved his family to Hooker, Oklahoma and worked for John Deere for many years before going to work for Texas County and running his own business. In 1980 upon retiring he returned to his home in Roger Mills County. Bill leaves two living children, Robert Flewelling and wife Anita, Mooreland, Oklahoma; Thomas Raff and wife Essie, Crawford, Oklahoma; his wife Nell, Amarillo, Texas; two brothers Floyd "Hop" Raff and wife, Hooker, Oklahoma; Lloyd "Mike" Raff and wife, Lompoc, California; two sisters, Lillie Humphrey, Delhart, Texas; Viola Moore, LaHarbra, California, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, as well as other family and friends. Services will be held April 8, 2005 at 200 p.m. at Durham Community Building offiiated by Dewayne Dobbs and assisted by Mike Heatwill. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
