She would have celebrated her 101 birthday in 6 weeks. Her parents participated in the opening of the Cherokee Strip and were among the pioneers of Medford, Oklahoma. She moved with her parents and sisters to a farm nearer Medford when she was 3. She started to school when she was 5, but could only attend a short time then, because she contracted typhoid fever. She resumed her schooling the next fall. When she was 12 the Somers family moved to West Plains, Missouri where they lived two years, the moved to Camargo. She attended schools in Medford, Oklahoma, a country school out of West Plains, Missouri and finished her schooling in Camargo. At that time the 9th grade was as high as the school went here so that is as far as she got. The Somers moved to Camargo in 1914. At that time the house was on the bank of the river. Grandpa Foulk, Walter and Charlye and Enoch Boyd moved it a mile north. It took two weeks to go a mile with a team of horses. The family lived in it all that time. November 27, 1921 Emma Somers and Samuel Vernon Robinson were married at Woodward, Oklahoma. To this union 4 children were born Jacqueline, Wanda, Johnnie and Joan. She gave her heart to the Lord in 1936 and lived for the Lord the rest of her life. She was a member of the Assembly of God church and taught nearly every age group in Sunday School at one time or another. She had written the history of the Somers and Wirth families. She enjoyed working with flowers, crafts, reading and making quilts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Lizzie Somers, her husband Sam Robinson, her two sisters and their spouses Dora and Clyde Bishop and Nella and Zellan Faucett, 2 sons in law Dale Chain and Lester Foulk, and a nephew Raymond Bishop. She leaves to mourn her passing her children Jacqueline Foulk of Camargo, Wanda Robinson of Oklahoma City, Johnnie Robinson of Billings and Joan Chain of Hunter. Three grandchildren and their spouses, Jacque and Leroy Zachgo of Fairfax, JA, Dale Jr. and Sara Chain, Peggy and R.J. Parrish of Hunter; 8 great grandchildren, a niece Dorothy Little of Gilbert, Arizona, and a nephew Leland Bishop, whom she helped raise. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 6-May-1999
