After a long illness, he is now at peace. He was raised in Cheyenne, Oklahoma and after sharing a family, moved to Oklahoma City in 1961, where he worked for National Life Insurance Company and American General Insurance Company, retiring after 28 years. He and his wife Sadie were married on June 22, 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, Gloria June Kovar, a son Curtis and a son Dale Ward. He is survived by two sons, Ricky Rice and his family of Oklahoma City, and Rondel Rice and family of El Reno; daughter Gaye Johnson and family of Bethel Acres, Gary Ward of Oklahoma City, one brother Loyd Rice of Edmond, and a sister Mildred Daniel and family of Oklahoma City; his grandchildren and many special friends. His family will miss his gracious and generous heart and his sense of humor that pulled them through it all. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. March 28, 2000 at Sunny Lane Cemetery, directed by Hunter Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
