She passed away February 11, 2003 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 14 days. Lavena graduated from New Liberty High Schol. She continued her eduvcation and received her degree in Education. She began teachin in 1948 at Bulo and later taught at Berlin, Sayre, Sweetwater and Reydon. Lavena met Royce Rose through a little "shove" from Royce's mother who had attended church with Lavena and her parents for many years. They were later married in the New Liberty Church Parsonage on October 10, 1948. Lavena gave birht to their son, Henry Lee, in August of 1952. Royce and Lavena lived in the New Liberty area until 1953 when they moved to Buffalo Creek. Lavena was an active member of the New Liberty Church since childhood. She began playing the piano in the chuch at the age of 12 and continued until 1996. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister. Services were held Friday February 14, 2003at 2:00 p.m. at New Liberty Church, officiated by Jimmy Dean and Daryle Perry. Burial followed in the Lone Oak Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Survivors include: husband, Royce Rose of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Henry Lee and Earlen Rose of Bulo, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, junita Rose and fiance', Tuff Powers of Bulo, Oklahoma, Justin Rose and wife, Lanette of Bulo, Oklahoma; three brothers, Howard Fuchs and wife, Inez of Sweetwater, Oklahoma, Alfred Fuchs and wife, Jeanice of Hobart, Oklahoma, Calvin Fuchs and wife, Gwen of Homestead, Florida,host of other relatives and friends.
