Reser was born in the State of Illinois, Madison County March 28, 1837. He died at the home of his son J.J. Reser at Collinsville, Oklahoma February 10, 1927, at the age of 89 years, eleven months and ten days. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Cox at Urbana, Missouri January 25, 1855. To this union were born seven children, four girls and three boys, five of whom survive his going; two with the mother departed this life December 22, 1925. The children who survive are: Mrs. L.W. Pate of Neosho, Missouri, Mrs. W.W. Smith of Turley, Oklahoma, J.J. Reser of Collinville, Oklahoma, G.B. Rser of Oolgah, Oklahoma, and William reser of Pheonix, Arizona. Mr. Reser professed faith in Christ early in life and gave testimony to the saving power of the Christ. Those present at the funeral were; Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Pate, Dorotha Pate, Grandma Rimbey, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vessels and daughter, allof Neosho, Missour; Mrs. Smith of Turley, Oklahoma a son and wife Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Reser of Collinsville, Oklahoma; a son-in-law S.H. Rimbey of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Luther Holloway of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Mrs. Jack Rimby of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Mrs. M.J. Rimbey of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two nieces, Mrs. Mattie Gaither of Columbus, Kansas, Mrs. Sarah Jane Darby of Springfield, missouri; Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Rimbey of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Mrs. A.L. Newton of Webb C ity, Missouri and a number of friends. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Pate in Nehosho, Missouri Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock conducted by Rev. Lee Roy Lemming, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Music was furnished by the choir of the same church of Neosho, Missouri.
