Myna Texana Hunt was born January 4, 1875 at Salina, North Carolina and departed this life June 5, 1958, at the age of 83 years, 5 months, and 1 day, in the Fay Thomas rest home in Amarillo, Texas. She was united in marriage to Thomas Jefferson Duke in 1895. To this union four children were born. Mr. Duke preceded her in death in 1925. She was later married to Walter Richerson who preceded her in death in 1950. She is a long time member of the Church of Christ and was a faithful member until death. She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Wester W. Duke of Enid, Oklahoma, and Walter Duke of Fort Supply; two daughters, Mrs. Stella Hanna and Mrs. Jewel McCain, both of Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters and a host of other relatives and friends. Pall bearers were her grandsons, Billy Duke, Leon Ator, Andrew Hirshie, James Duke, Bill Sherwood and Lavern Fair. Services were conducted in Amarillo and she was laid to rest in Llano cemetery.
