Ridgway, 86 years young, retired Rancher of Owartz Hills, California, who had lived in Antelope Valley, California since 1948 were held at 1 p.m. April 18, 1979, at the Mumare Funeral Home in Lancaster, California. Clyde passed away April 14, 1979 of heart trouble. Clyde was a former Roll and Crawford resident leaving here in the late 30;s and moving to New Mexico where he resided until 1948. He was born in Cherokee Indian Territory in eastern Oklahoma. Oct 3, 1892, moving to western Oklahoma, when a boy. He met and married Sarah Sullivan in 1914. To this union were born 8 children; 4 daughters, Lara Murphy and Odessa Mason, Lancaster, California, Ruby Kennedy, Nampa, Indiana, Virgie Miller, Yreka, California; and four sons, Carl and Tom of Lancaster, California, Freeman of Roll, Oklahoma, Ray of Nesaha, Missouri, all living; also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Birdie Armstrong, El Cojoun, California, and 22 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and 1 sister-in-law, Mrs. Ralph Ridgeway of Crawford, Oklahoma. Mr. Ridgeway was a blacksmith in Roll, Oklahoma in the early 30's and reared his children in this community. His blacksmith shop was located nearly in the spot where his son Freeman has a cafe at now in Roll. Mrs. Ridgeway has 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Pearl Riley of Durham and Mrs. Ralph Ridgeway of Crawford living here. Sarah is confined to a rest home in California. Arrangements were by Mumau Funeral Home, Lancaster, California. Officiating was the Rev. Joe Silva, Assembly of God Church of Quartz Hill. Interment at Jasua Memorial Park, Lancaster, California. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
