She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barton. She was reared in the Durham community and graduated from the Durham high school in 1941. She was married to Wilbur Lee Ridgeway in 1941. To this union was born one child, Ronald. She had made her home in California and Idaho. Thelma Faye departed this life December 17, 1959 near San Jon, New Mexico in a car collision in which she was killed instantly. She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Ronald Ridgeway of Caldwell, Idaho, her mother, Mrs. Ella Barton, Durham, Oklahoma three brothers, Floyd of Crawford, Oklahoma, Fred, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and Milburn of Lancaster, California; two sisters, Mrs. Willie Neu, Lancaster, California and Mrs. Jim Brown of Durham, Oklahoma. Preceding her in death were her father, one sister, Ruby Rogers, and one brother, Melvin Earl. Also, she leaves a number of aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends. Those who knew her remember her as lovely little girl who was kind, friendly and thrifty and loved life as she lived. Funeral services were held in the Durham community building Tuesday afternoon with Harold Knight of Amarillo, Texas and Rev. Laddie Adams, officiating. Committal was in the Bellview cemetery, Roger Mills County, oklahoma with Scroggins in charge of arrangements.
