Burial will be at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills Couny, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre. Weldon Carter Rhoades was born May 28,1918 in Marietta, Oklahoma to Edna Clare and Clifford C. Rhoades and died Friday, August 20,2004 in Clinton, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Weldon graduasted from Port High school in 1938. He was married to Imogene VanOrsdol at Sentinel on Aril 12,1941. Weldon served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was stationed in the Philippines and Japan during the occupation. They lived in Elk City for nine years before moving to their farm near Berlin in 1950 to make their home. He was a farmer most of his life. He was a member of the Berlin Church of Christ where he occasionally preached and later became a member of the Sayre Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Grant W. and Phillip w.; and one sister. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Chalfant and husband Jay of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; three sisters, Doris Miller of Eunice, New Mexico, Virginia Harris of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Reda Clay of Burnet. Texas; one brother, Cecil Rhoades of Bismark, North Dakota; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
