Burial followed in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Martin Funeral Home of Elk City in charge. Mrs. Ray was born December 1, 1895 in Elli Jay, Georgia. She was 78. She was married to Joe Abb Ray March 11, 1914 at Hammon and they resided on a farm in the Nine Mile community until 1947, when they moved into Hammon where she has lived since. Mr. Ray preceded her in death July 14, 1969. Mrs. Ray was a longtime member of the Hammon Church of Christ. Survivors include 3 sons, Joseph D. Ray, Hammon, Hubert Ray, Elk City, Foy Ray, Shertz, Texas, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Raymond Ray, who was killed in World War II in Germany and Harley Ray, who died September 4, 1972.
