He grew to manhood in Missouri and on July 7, 1895 was happily united in marriage to Miss Nettie Jackson. To this union were born three daughters, Vera Marie, Jessie May, and Mildred Etna, one of whom (two lines can't read), preceded her father to the heavenly home. Mrs. James Sprowls resides in Cheyenne and Mildred, a girl of about elevern, resides with her mother here. Brother Reed, with his family moved to Oklahoma in 1901 and settled in the Sandstone country between Elk City and Cheyenne. In 1921 he moved his family to Cheyenne where he lived till the day of his death, March 10, 1925. He professed faith in Christ about 1905 and united with the Christian Church. In 1924 during the revival in the Baptist Church of Cheyenne, he and his faithful companion who survived hime united with that church. In all the walks of life, where Brother Reed went while here in the flesh he was faithful to the trust committed to his hands. Whether on the farm or in the business world he was always the soul of honor. As a husband and father he provided for those whom the Lord had given him and ever exhibit those qualities of loving kindness and tender aministrations so characteristic of men who are good and true, and faithful in their day and generation. So living as only good men can, he died as only good men die. He leaves to mourn his loss the faithful companion of many years, two daughters, and a circle of friends that was inclusive of all his acquaintances. To the sorrowing ones we offer our heartfely sympathies and pray that God will be with them in this dark time.
