Rogers, Butler pioneer, who died early Monday, March 8, 1953 in the Clinton hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ here by Byron Fullerton, Minister of Tipton Church of Christ. Burial wa in the Butler cemetery, Butler, Custer County, Oklahoma. Mrs. Rogers was one of this community's most beloved pioneer women, and had many firends in this section. The wife of F.E. Rogers, a former County Commissioner of this district years ago, she and her husband homesteaded here in 1901, and resided in Butler since 1911. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Newman Baggett, Strong City; Mrs. Ellis Fields, Butler; Mrs. Elmer Filds, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Naomi Staley, Lubbock, Texas; two sons, George, Memphis, Texas, and Ted, Canadian, Texas; three brothers, W.C. Pendleton, Farmersville, Texas; Luther Pendleton, Lubbock, Texas, and Elmer Pendleton, Chicago, Ill., twenty-two grandchilddren, and seven great grandchildren, and a large circle of friends.
