She took a walk with God on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She attended Hammon Public Schools and graduated at the age of sixteen. She graduated from Southwestern State University with a Batchelor of Science and Master's degree in Business Education with teaching fields in Home Economics, Music and English. On August 8, 1948, she married Dwight G. Rymer in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. They celebrated 61 years of marriage. She taught Business Eduation at Red Rock and also taught Glee Club at Morrison part-time. Mary's favorite things to do were playing musical instruments, riding motorcycle, traveling and community theatre. She loved acting, directing, singing and has been on stage numerous times in the Stillwater and Perry community theatres. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 343, Morrison, Oklahoma. Mary is survived by her husband, Dwight of Morrison, Oklahoma; two daughters, Peggy Robinson of Morrison, Oklahoma and enel Sexton of Stillwater, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, David Hawkins and his wife, Victoria, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Brice Robinson of Manhattan, Kansas and Creed Robinson and his wife, Cassie, of Morrison, Oklahoma; a number of other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Rymer, her older brother, Orville Thorp and her parents, George and Mavor Thorp. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Morrison Christian Church with Pastor Roy Fleshman officiating. Interment followed in the Morrison Cemetery. Services are under the direection of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry. Memorials may be made to the Morrison Christian Church or the Morrison Community Development Association in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
