Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church Chapel with dr. Murray Gossett officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Prairie Dell Cemetery in Hemphill County by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Miss Shaw was a longtime businesswoman and civic worker. She was the daughter of the late Matt and Carrie Shaw, pioneers of Roger Mills County, Okla. Her father filed on a homestead when the Cheyenne and Arapaho Country was opened in 1892, and it is there in Western Oklahoma where she was raised and spent most of her teen years. After completing two years of high school in Oklahoma, she went to Canadian for her junior and senior years. Following her graduation, she attended Dague Business University at Wichita, Kan., and after completing her training, she returned to Canadian and was secretary to the late A.V. McQuiddy for 12 years. In 1942 she moved to Amarillo where she worked as a clerk and bookkeeper for the Amarillo Production Credit Association for the next nine years. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Kirk Manufacturing Co. Miss Shaw was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Narcissa Whitman Circle. She did volunteer work for the church library and was a lifetime member of St. Anthony's Hospital Auxiliary, where she managed the gift shop. She was involved in the projects and programs of the Amarillo Business and Professional Woman's Club since joining in 1948. She held many chairmanships and, in 1967, was named Woman of the Year by the club. She also received the Second Mile Award. She was manager of the gift shop at the Harrington Discovery Center. She was awarded a Mission Honor Award by the Women's Association. A special thank you to Travis and Michael Pittman and their parents, Karen and George Pittman. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one nephew. Survivors include two nieces, Ardise Shaw of Amarillo and Margaret Ann Wagnon of Arnett, Oklahoma; three nephews, Thoral Shaw, Jr. of Durham, Oklahoma, Albert Shaw, of Crowell and Richard Shaw od Gowen, Michigan. The family suggests memorials be to BS Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, Texas 79176, or to a favorite charity.
