Joseph Henry Sifford was born May 23, 1920 at El Reno, Oklahoma to Frank and Alice Kissinger Sifford and died at the age of 82. He attended Foss and Pie Flat Schools before serving his country in the U.S. Army in both the Europen and Pacific Theaters. Joe was married to Lila Reagan on March 1944 at El Paso, Texas. After his discharge, they moved to Hammon where they lived until 1996 when they moved to Elk City. Joe operated heavy equpment and was an independent truck driver until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hammon and later the Main Street Baptist Church in Elk City. Joe is survived by his wife Lila, three children, Margaret Long and her husband Roy of Elk City, Jack Reagan of Hammon, and Janet Stevens and her husband Doug of Elk City; a sister, Opal Coffey and her husband Carl of Kingston; eight grandchildren and 15 greaat grandchilren.
