While going down the hill approaching the bridge across Sandstone Creek the backing strap broke and the buggy ran into the horse causing it to run. Mrs. Sprawl jumped out and fell on her head killing her almost instantly. Mrs. Hardin was thrown out further on and received severe injuries. Mrs. Sprawl will be remembered as the widow Haulman, and was about 40 years old. She leaves a son and two daughters, all grown or large enough to take care for themselves.
