Shockey was born August 13, 1935 in Leedey, Oklahoma to Lena and Chalres Shockey and passed away February 19, 1999 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years, 6 months and 6 days. Charles grew up in Leedey and attended school at Moorewood. In 1956, he married Mary Ann Kingore in Walsh, Colorado and worked as a truck driver. Mary Ann passed away in 1979 and Charles later married Darlene Witt. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by 3 daughters, Charlotte King, Noble, Oklahoma, Rhodeena Green, Norman, Oklahoma and Carolyn Shockey, Clinton, Oklahoma; 2 sons, ElWayne Shockey, Lexington, Oklahoma and Adam Shockey, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services were held Saturday, February 27, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dewey Cemetery with Roy Shockey officiating.
