He accepted Christ as his personal saviour many years ago in Texas and was a long time member of the Baptist Church of Strong City. He was noted for his great knowledge of the Bible. "Uncle George" as he was affectionately known by his many friends, was a man of a kind and generous heart who loved his neighbors and his fellow man. His home was always open to the early day farmers and ranchers wsho were drivingg their cattle to market. There they stopped to spend the night for they knew they was always welcome and that their herd of cattle would be cared for. He was alway a leader in his Community and in Roger Mills County and until the time of his death took great interest in the political and national problems of our nation. In his passing Roger Mills County has lost one of its greatest pioneer citizens. He added to the sum of human knowledge and at his death left this world a better place in which to live.
