Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Cheyenne with Rev. Robert Webb and George Frank, minister, officiating. Born October 1, 1895 at Weatherford, Texas. Mr. Scott came to Strong City community in 1898 with his parents. He was married to Berrtha Mae Bowman January 22, 1926 at Canadian, Texas. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife of the home; 3 daughters, Billie Vincent, Lapunte, California; Betty Lamb, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Mrs. Lanna Mae Long, Monterey, California; four sons, George Jr. of Roswell, New Mexico, Bobby of Hugo, Oklahoma; Harold and Gary of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one sister, Mrs. Edna Durham; two brothers, Claude and Arthur Scott, Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Pall bearers were Champ Maddux, Dale Wesner, Lester Minor, Lester Pierce, Weldon Davis, Albert Maddux. Committal was in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
