Mrs. stephens, the former Dot Sprowls, was a sister of Roy Sprowls of Cheyenne. She grew to womanhood in the Square Top community east of Cheyenne. Prior to her marriage she taught in the rural schools of Roger Mills County. Dot, as her friends, knew her, was a charter member of the Rebekah Lodge of Strong City. She transferred her membership to Elk City where she was an active member at the time of her passing. Mrs. Stephens was active in church affairs. A few years ago sdhe became critically ill, but had recovered from this illness. She passed away as she slept at her home, Thursday afternoon. She was 63 years of age. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 1956
