Stafford, was born June 1, 1891 in Robinson, Illinois and moved with her parents, Peter Diltz and Jennie Work to Rankin, Oklahoma in 1901. She died at Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, Oklahoma, after a weeks illness from a stroke Friday, March 31, 1967. The family moved to Cheyenne in 1908 and to Roosevely in 1914 going to Chickasha in 1936 where she has since resided. She was married to Clyde E. Stafford January 18, 1914 who preceded her in death in 1960. While in Roosevely she owned and operated a Hat Shop and in Chickasha they owned and operated restaurants in the down town area until retirement in 1957. She was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Christine Leonard of Mustang, Mrs. Zoe Askew of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Evelyn Hilderbrant of National City, California, Three sisters, Mrs. Helen Harlan of San Diego, California, Mrs. Ruth Bourdon of Baldwin Park, California, and Mrs. Alice Kroeger of Cody, Nebraska; a brother, Daivd D. Work of Gunnison, Colorado, 5 grandchildren and three great grandchildrfen. Funeral services were held Monday, April 3, 1967 at 2 p.m. in Chickasha, with Rev. J.C. Curry Jr. officiating, assisted by Rev. Charles Wallace. Interment by her husband in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, Grady County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
