She passed from this life in the Leedey Nursing Home, Leedey, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, March 29, 1994, at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 28 days. Lola received her early education in the schools near her home, including her High School work in the Leedey School System, then completed her education in Southwestern University, Weatherford, Oklahoma. On October 18, 1925, Lola Quattlebaum and Boyd Barton Stoddard were united in marriage in the home of her parents, south of Leedey. The first home was established near Leedey. Four daughters, Lorena and Loeta and Oleta and Oneta, came to bless this home. At the age of 9 years, Lola made her confession of Faith in her lord, received Baptism, and became a member of the Leedey Missionary Baptist Church, later transferring to the Rhea Baptist Church, then to the Leedey First Baptist Church. When they attended church at Rhea she belonged to W.M.U., taught children;s Sunday School Class. During these many years of her constant love for the Lord, and the work for which He had chosen her, she touched the lived of all who were privileged to know her, including especially the many children who loved and admired this gracious lady. Mrs. Stoddard taught the elementary grades in various shcools including Euriks, Center Point, Leedey, Seiling, Vici, and Kiowa School in Roger Mills County. Lola Stoddard enjoyed quilting, corcheting, traveling, and especially enjoyed her church work, and always alert for the many ways in which she could help others. She was a member of the Leedey Senior Citizens Orgainization, also a member of the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Stoddard was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Stoddard; her parents, William David and Hattie Agnes White Quattlebaum; 2 sisters Mary Newton and Opeal McClendon, and 4 brothers, Howard, Herman, Elton and Albert Quattlebaum. She is survived by 4 daughters and their husbands, Lorena and Doyle Taylor of Elk City; Loreta and Jimmy Kauk, of Butler, Oklahoma; Oleta and Doyle Bray of Leedey; and Oneta and Gene Coleman of Clinton, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great great gvrandchildren; 3 sisters, Ora Payne of Corn, Oklahoma; Thelma Driver of Elk City; and LaVena Furnas of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 3 brothers, Edward Quattlebaum of Leedey; Leonard of Weatherford; and Lloyd also of Weatherford; 3 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Odella Quattlebaum of Bartlesville; Mrs. Sarah Quattlebaum Renforw of Lubbock, Texas; and Mrs. Sue Quattlebaum of Weatherford; many other loved ones and a host of loving friends.
